Product details

Sea-Tags wristbands continuously transmit a signal that is monitored by one or more telephones equipped with the application. If a wristband is immersed or far away, the signal is interrupted and the telephone(s) trigger an alarm and record the GPS position at the time of the incident. The system is fail safe.
When wristbands are turned on, they continuously transmit a signal that one or more Smartphones can monitor using the application.
Your Smartphone signals an alarm if the wristband wearer falls overboard. When a wristband is immersed, the signal is interrupted and the monitoring phone (or phones) automatically triggers an alarm and records the GPS position at the time of the incident.
The Sea-Tags application displays the MOB’s position, the real-time position of the boat, and provides real-time updates of the heading and distance to retrieve the MOB.

CREW-Mode
In crew mode, no mobile network (GSM) coverage is necessary. Monitor your crew and let your crew monitor you by connecting wristbands to all phones on board using the free Sea-Tags app. The Sea-Tags application displays the MOB’s position, the real-time position of the boat, and provides real-time updates of the heading and distance to retrieve the MOB.

SOLO-Mode
In solo mode, you will require mobile network (GSM) coverage to use the Sea-Tags application. In the event of a man overboard, your phone (left onboard) will send a text message (SMS) with the position and time of the event. The person on land can contact the authorities and communicate the last known GPS position of the MOB.

Compatible Boats
Sea-Tags were developed for pleasure craft and can be used on boats up to 15 m long, due to the limitations of Bluetooth coverage to avoid false alarms. Sea-Tags are not for steel or carbon boats.

On the one hand the thing is an idea for coastal sailors, since a connection to the mobile radio network is necessary. On the other hand, it really only makes sense for crews, since sending SMS to public emergency call centers is not planned at all. DGzRS only has an emergency telephone and fax. A forwarding of an SMS via service numbers of mobile phone providers (Vodafone eg 99 destination fax number) does not function due to the number conventions in the app. A contact with the manufacturer was not yet possible.

Hi from amazing Paros. Battery should be fine for minimum 6 months, with an average usage. Battery replacement is super easy. Just unscrew the bottom, replace battery and re-close. Battery cost is minimal, i.e. should be less than 3 euros. Happy summer, happy boating!

Dear J.D. it´s not useless onboard of steel boats. But you have to test the connection between the Wristband and the mobile phone. Because steel partially shields radio waves. Yours SVB-team.
