Fire Extinguishers

Equip your ship with the necessary safety equipment surrounding the topic of firefighting. We not only carry stationary fire extinguishers, but also practical fire extinguish sticks and much more.
A basic distinction of the 5 fire classes:

Class A: Fires involving solid materials such as wood, paper or textiles.

Class B: Fires involving liquids or melting substances such as gasoline, oil or grease.

Class C: Fires involving gases such as methane or propane.

Class D: Fires involving metals such as magnesium or sodium.

Class F: Fires involving cooking oils and grease.

Powder extinguishers:
Approved for class A, B and C fires. Instanteous extinguishing effect and high extinguishing performance by suffocating the fire. Extinguishing fires of electric equipment up to 1000 volts is possible with a minimum distance of 1 m.

Foam extinguishers:
Approved for class A and B fires. Foam extinguishing agents are primarily suitable for controlling surface fires. The outstanding extinguishing properties by smothering the fire also apply to class A fires. Another advantage is minimal cleaning work after extinguishing the fire.

CO2 extinguishers:
Approved for class B fires. Due to its properties, carbon dioxide is usually only used in enclosed spaces. The extinguishing effect is achieved by repressing the oxygen. CO2 extinguishers are ideal for extinguishing electrical equipment, diesel and gasoline fires.

Prevention:
Preventing a fire on board is extremely important because successful extinguishing of a fire on boats is often difficult. We recommend at least one fire extinguisher in the galley, one in the fore ship and one in the cockpit. Larger ships should also carry a fire extinguisher in the engine room and one on deck. When placing the extinguisher, please consider the possibility of heavy smoke in case of a fire. An axe and a crowbar should be essential parts of your firefighting equipment on board.
